1/16/10 - Fans and Friends of LOCKREN

Please join us Saturday evening January 23rdfrom 9:00pm to 1:00am at Scooter’s Bar & Grill in Anamosa for the Martelle Fireman’s Dance. This is the Martelle Fire Departments one and only fundraiser for the year. They will use this money to help with training and buying new equipment to keep the Firemen safe and to help save lives.  Donating to a local Fire Department is one of the best donations you can make. All of the money goes directly to the Fire Department so they use it in their best interest. We always have a great time with the Martelle Firemen and women and are looking forward to another successful fundraiser. This event is 21 and over after 10:00pm and there is a $5.00 cover with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Fire Department. Mark your calendar and we look forward to seeing everyone there.   

The Band Lockren

There is no doubt that female country is one of the fastest growing areas of the music industry and the band "Lockren" is here to bring it to you. We are one of only a hand full of bands in the Midwest that features a female lead singer. This allows us to do something completely different in the live music industry. The band "Lockren" was started during the Spring of 2005 and is made up of a great mixture of youth and experience.

Our first experienced member is Jon Purdy on Guitar. Jon is a veteran of over 35 years of playing experience around the U.S. and abroad before returning home to Cedar Falls where he lives and owns his own business. On Bass we have singer, song writer, Brian Sanny. Brian is a veteran of over 15 years experience including playing in a family formed, original band around his home town of Omaha in which Brian wrote most of the songs. Now Brian lives and works in Eastern Iowa and calls Coralville home. On Drums we have John Rohlf. John also is a veteran of over 35 years of playing experience around the US in various types of bands from Rock to Classic Country. Now John is right at home in Cedar Falls where he lives and owns his own business. Our final member, and bringing the youth and enthusiasm to the band, is 22 year old, Amanda Loughren. Amanda started her singing career at the ripe old age of 13 at her school variety show and has been singing ever since. Amanda has earned the respect of her peers with her vocal ability that is second to none. Amanda is now in the process of starting her own business and calls Cedar Rapids home. Amanda's vocals, combined with the harmonies and high energy, make this band something special and an experience you will not soon forget.

The band Lockren is primarily a top 40 country band with music from artists such as Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Shania Twain, Sugarland, Trick Pony, Brooks & Dunn, Dierks Bentley, and Johnny Cash to name a few. But we do not stop there. We have something for just about everyone with classic rock favorites from artists like AC/DC, Joan Jett, Led Zeppelin, Pat Benatar, and ZZ Top among others.

Since our beginning in 2005 we have been fortunate to play in numerous Town Celebrations, Casinos, and many County Fairs. We have been very fortunate to be the opening act for several great Nashville Recording Artists such as Craig Morgan, Gary Allen, Jason Michael Carroll, Randy Houser, Rodney Atkins and Tracy Byrd. We have gained a lot of new fans/friends over the past 4 years and we are all very excited about our future.
